Activities

Our ultimate objective is to raise children who are self-reliant and all-rounded members of society, able to maximise their potential, and input into creating a sustainable, nurturing, safe and non-dependent community.

We do this through a number of activities:

  • Child sponsorship programme, in collaboration with Global Care International, which enables OVC’s to access education
  • Spurgeons Academy (see related webpages)
  • Provision of food baskets to families in need
  • Provision of clothing items to families in need
  • Assistance with access to health care
  • Employment of a social worker to provide psycho-social support to families in need, and assist them in accessing further support as required on a case-by-case basis

These activities tie in with our objectives listed below:

  • To reduce illiteracy levels amongst OVC’s in Kibera through educational empowerment
  • To offer basic needs – food, shelter, clothing, love
  • To reduce opportunistic diseases and improve health by increased immune system
  • To produce all-rounded, productive members of society, and help in developing sustainable programs
  • To support foster parents / guardians in order to contribute to integrating OVC’s into the community
  • To undertake the psycho-social support to PLWA’s on how to live a productive, responsible life
  • To assist and give the support to the Kenyan Govt, and the world at large, in the fight against AIDS through regular statistics
  • To streamline HIV/AIDS de-stigmatization policy in SCCK operations, in line with the National policy
