Kenyanito

Kenyanito is Co-founder and Programme Director of Spurgeon Child Care Kenya. He has an MA in Community Development and Rural Sociology and a BA in Political Science and Sociology, both from the University of Nairobi. He has 15 years’ experience as a development practitioner working with the vulnerable groups majorly children, young people and women in building better future, sustainable development and defending social justice. He is driven by the values of integrity, passion and humanity.

Kenyanito is a problem-solver policy analyst, advocacy advisor, strategy development and implementer, partnerships and external relationships manager (maintaining an inter-ministerial programmes involving Governments, diverse groups like NGOs, FBOs, Donors etc); a consultant in policy formulation, design and development of advocacy strategy and campaigns strategy with extensive networks and relevant skill sets in scaling up projects which are evidence based. He is driven by the values of integrity, passion and humanity.

Kenyanito has worked extensively for and with many organizations in shaping their thinking processes related to capacity building and structured lobbying, negotiations and advocacy. He is a good community organizer who has served in different organizations and coordinated different campaigns in the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya where he serves as an official in both Elimu Yetu Coalition (An Umbrella Organization on Education) and Local Urban Forum (LUF) geared towards urban development. He is a strong believer and practitioner of participatory approach and theory of change.

Kenyanito is a well sought after TV analyst on current social and political policy affairs, Founder of a nascent I Dream Again Kenyanito (IDAK) Foundation, and has held several leadership positions that have helped in shaping decision making of his country and beyond. He is a member of various boards of NGOs, FBOs, Schools, Churches and para-church organizations where he has served on advisories (pro bono) and also has first-hand experience of working with government and other key stakeholders.

He is a student of leadership who has invested heavily in mentoring, life coaching to hundreds of students/ youths throughout the country in school and college week-end challenge ministry via church without walls. He serves with Samaritan’s Ark Church as a senior pastor and doubles up as a patron at Timotheo’s Today Outreach Ministry (an interfaith Ministry geared in spiritual formations of young High school students and Universities).

Together with his wife Val, they value the family institution as a basic building block to a stable, cohesive and progressive society. As such, they have offered pre-marital counseling to loads of love birds, best coupled and continued to walk with several families post-wedding for the glory of God under the banner, Marriage Works. They are blessed with three children, two sons and one daughter ages (13years, 9 years and 3 years). Kenyanito loves fun.
